I woke up this morning with butterflies in my stomach. I was heading up to see the set of Twilight set! OMG!
My mom and I left Salem around 9:30 in the morning. The entire hour drive I got more and more excited about arriving. We got into Portland around 10:30. I saw the SUMMIT sign and couldn’t help but burst out in smiles and giggles.
We parked and headed up the steps to the
school, seeing the arrows that pointed us towards the set. We made it there and were told that we could stand in one spot and take pictures. However, it didn’t seem like much was happening. They were setting up some lighting in the corner in the corner of what appeared to be a courtyard, but since I was not allowed to go any further, I could not really get a good shot of what was going on. I believe they were filming the biology scenes inside. Some other twilighters arrived, coming from Los Angeles. They joined me and my mom for a while. We were allowed to stand here, but nothing really happened. After a while we decided to grab something to eat and walked to a nearby fast food place. The other family that was there headed out as well to grab some food.
On our walk back to the set, the rain started to pour. I was completely drenched. Once back on set, we shivered while smiling. As I was twirling around to keep myself busy, the one and only Kristen Stewart came out the door!!!! At first I simply stared at her…I couldn’t believe it was her! She smiled at us as she was wisked away.
After that, we were asked to leave the covered are because it was too close to what they were filming.
It was really pouring still, and the only place they said we could stand was at the skate park right next to the school. After grabbing some umbrella’s we wandered over to the park.
This whole time, the security officers and random film crew members were very nice and made us feel very welcome. We stood with our umbrellas under a tree, trying to hide from the cold, rain and wind.
Eventually a new fan arrived, this time from New Mexico. We chatted about the book and movie, sharing our love for the twilight saga. THEN the stars came out from lunch! Robert, Kristen, Michaeland Justin. I didn’t move fast enough to get their pictures, except from a distance. I was soo happy to see Rob and Kristen together, they look perfect together.
Some more time went by and my waiting started to pay off. Michael Welch was walking by as my
mother ran towards him asking for his photo. He gladly agreed. SUCH A SWEETHEART! He was so nice and sooo adorable! More time went by with nothing really exciting happening. Robert walked by many times, too far to try and talk to. Other fans came and went, not able to bare the cold…except one. Fanboy. I never caught his name…but he was nice and funny. We three, my mom, I and him were all standing around chatting when a group of people walked by. One of the ladies just happened to be the amazing STEPHENIE MEYER! Of course I realized it to late to ask for her photo…but we yelled at her as she walked away (about how much we loved her) and she smiled.
For a few hours, they were setting up something outside of the building. There was a long window
on the side of the building and indside was the cafeteria. Outside the window they were setting up lighting and trees outside. They also set up some pipes to create rain outside the window. Robert went in and out of the building, probably to help set up the lighting.
More waiting, taking random pictures and then…Rob came by. My mom pulled me along towards him as I started to hyperventilate. Shortly after I got his photo and several
autographs (for several friends) the herd of other girls arrived wanting their turn. He was SOOOO sweet and cute…and sweet and cute. He had his wonderful golden contacts in and smiled, even though he appeared to be freezing. I smiled a lot and couldn’t believe I actually had met him.
With my life now complete, my mother and I headed for the warmth of our car…hoping to dethaw our feet.
